Kallie Lane writes thrillers, suspense novels, and cozy mysteries, often with a touch of romance. She excels at hard hitting action, complex relationships, and adds humor to lighten the dark moments.
Kallie loves to write stories with realistic characters, intricate plots, and happy endings. And while she enjoys doing extensive research, many of the locations and perils in her stories stem from personal experience.
Kallie lives in Canada and loves winter in the cool blue North. Ever the optimist, she claims a hot toddy by the fire can work wonders after dragging oneself through winter snowdrifts and -30oC temperatures. It's also the perfect setting for hatching thriller and suspense novels, and cozy mysteries.

The above intro seems a bit formal, doesn't it? And it doesn't tell you much about me as a person, so I'll try to fill in the blanks. I was raised in Montreal and still have a home there, although most of my novels come alive in my writing den (photos below), at a cottage I love in the mountains. I guess I've always been a country girl at heart.
My constant companions these days are a Rottweiler, an American Bully, and a cat rescue. I'm widowed and have two adult sons who, I'm sure, worry about what trouble I'm getting into on a daily basis. Case in point; I've managed to break a few bones and dislocate others over the last few years when 'playing' with my dogs. While they are advanced obedience trained and a pleasure to have, I sometimes roughhouse with them a little too much. I also enjoy taking the boat out in the wee hours of the morning to see the stars and the night sky at the cottage. But, yes, I always have my cell phone handy. I'm sure if I didn't answer, someone would call 9-1-1.
I worked in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries for several years, and now I can finally enjoy writing as my real job. How lucky can a girl be? My spare time is shared with family and friends, including writer friends, and I work out to keep myself in shape, rather than dog wrestling! I'm an avid reader and spend more time with a book or tablet in my hands than watching television. Oh, I also like to travel, whether it's for business or pleasure, but I'm mostly found at the keyboard fulfilling my passion for writing.
Wishing you all the best,
Here's a peek at my writing den and my quirky pups again!
